Here's a really colorful activity that your kids are sure to love. This is especially appealing to kids who are visual learners. Ask them questions along the way to help them in their learning!

Get ready to have fun...Let's go:

Materials you'll need:

  1. Paper plate
  2. Milk (do not use low fat milk)
  3. Q-tips
  4. Kitchen soap
  5. Food coloring

Rainbow Milk

Why does it happen?

When the liquid soap comes into contact with the milk, it reacts with the fat in the milk and reduces the surface tension. This causes the food coloring to flow freely.

If your kids want to try it again (my kids always do!), simply empty the murky milk and the redo it from step 1.

Kids love exploring. Why not feed their curiosity with some exploration toys in our Discovery and Exploration section.
